Step 1: Submit Application and Documents
Please
submit all application documents (translated into
English as necessary ) to the Registrar’s office.
The necessary documents are:
1.
Application form
2. Two recommendation letters (an AST recommendation
form is provided for your convenience);
3. Complete records from previous school(s), translated
into English as necessary
4. One photo copies of your current non-ROC passport;
5. Two passport photos;
6. Doctor’s certification of good health (Completed
Medical Form);
7. Non refundable application process fee of NT$3,000

Step 2: Campus Tour and Admission Test
You will take one or more admission or placement test(s)
² Candidates for elementary school (1-4) will take
the Oral IDEA test
² Candidates for AST’s ESOL (English for Speakers
of other Languages) program will take the secondary
level English Proficiency (SLEP) test to assess English
proficiency level, a reading comprehension test, have
an interview with a member of the faculty and will
be asked to provide a writing sample.
You will also have the chance to visit classes, tour
the school, and meet with our Director, counselor
and teachers at your grade level.

Step 3: Admission Committee Reviews Application
Our
admission committee will review your application materials,
tests, and interview results. The committee will make
a decision on acceptance, grade level, and possible
ESOL placement at AST. The criteria to be followed
by the Admissions Committee in making these decisions
include:
1. Passport: AST can accept only those students who
have a valid passport from countries other than the
Republic of China;
2. School Records: Generally, we expect applicants
to have “B” or better grades for at least the current
and previous school year;
3. Age: By August 31 of the school year:
- The applicant must be 6 years old to enter grade
one.
4. English/Math proficiency: The results of the candidate’s
assessment must demonstrate a high potential for success
at AST.

Step 4: Admission Decision
We
will call to inform you of Admission Committee’s
decision, and discuss registration and orientation
procedures for successful applicants.
