Dear AST Families and Friends,

Please note this important information and all of the items in this “Information Newsletter”

BEGINNING WITH THE SEPTEMBER 5 NEWSLETTER, ALL NEWSLETTERS WILL ONLY BE POSTED ON OUR WEBSITE AT www.ast.tc.edu.tw . WE WILL NO LONGER BE SENDING HOME HARD COPIES OF THE NEWSLETTER AFTER AUGUST 29^th. PLEASE CHECK OUR WEBSITE AT LEAST ON FRIDAYS OR THE WEEKEND FOR THE LATEST NEWSLETTER AND ACTIVITIES’ CORNER.

• Questions about the Newsletter information should be directed to me through my Secretary, Ms. Ching Wang.
• Questions about Activities should be directed to Mr. Hart.
• Questions about the Counselor’s Corner should be directed to Ms. Oelke.

**Our After School Activities (ASA) program has begun !

Please encourage your child to join an activity. It is important that all students create a balance between academic life and activities.

The activities calendar and activities corner is included with this Newsletter.

**This year’s BACK TO SCHOOL NIGHT will be on September 4^th along with our first Parent Association (PA) meeting. Details will be sent home next week.

**During the next week ten days our core curriculum will be posted on our website for the year 2008-2009. Please look for the link.

** Semester One Travel Plans are underway for the following trips:

Grade 6 – Xialioxo Island, led by Mr. Wiles.

Grade 7 – Taidong area, led by Ms. Marcon.

Grade 8 Camp Taiwan, led by Mr. McDonnell.

Grades 3-5 – New site being researched

High School Singapore MUN Team, led by our MUN teachers, Ms. King, and Mr. and Mrs. Parker.

Possible Art Trip to Tokyo led by our Art teacher Mr. Stuart and his wife, Michiko.

June Trip to Spain with Ms. Julian, our new Spanish teacher.

** We are sorry to see our Registrar, Ms. Ling, leave but we wish her all of the best with a new chapter in her life in New York City.  Our  new Registrar is Ms. Amy Chang. We welcome her to the AST family!

第一學期正在籌畫的旅遊計畫有：

?    G6 -- 小琉球, 由Mr. Wiles領隊。

?    G7-- 台東地區, 由Ms. Marcon領隊。

?    G8-- Camp Taiwan, 由Mr. McDonnell領隊。

?    G3~5 -- 正在找尋新景點。

?    高中生新加坡模擬聯合國MUN之旅, 由MUN老師們 Ms. King, Mr. Parter, Mrs. Parker領隊。

?    計畫中的東京藝術之旅, 將由美術老師Mr. Stuart及夫人Michiko 領隊。

?    六月份西班牙之旅, 將由新任西班牙語老師 Ms. Julian領隊。
