Art Standards

 

Students will:
Creativity Expression
1.0 Develop the ability to invent, refine, and extend ideas for individual, original, and expressive works of art while exploring a variety of media.

Perception / Fabricating
2.0 Use senses, knowledge and feelings to find meaning in their environment artistically.
3.0 Heighten students’ abilities to see subtle variations in visual elements and to look for underlying principle design structures in what they see.

Culture / Heritage
4.0 Know artistic traditions from around the world - Europe, the Americas, Asia, and Africa. The artistic diverse styles, interpretations of common themes with emphasis on contrasts and comparisons of cultural, personal, and practical functions of art, past and present.

Informed Judgment
5.0 Learn to make informed judgments about art using critical thinking skills in the processes of perceiving, analyzing, interpreting, and judging their own and others’ art.

 

Computer Standards

 

Students will:
1. Exhibit a sound understanding of the basic operations and concepts of technology systems and demonstrate proficiency in the use of technology
2. Understand the ethical, cultural, and societal issues related to technology and practice responsible use of technology systems, information, and software.
3. Use technology tools to enhance learning, increase productivity, and promote creativity.
4. Use telecommunications to collaborate, publish, and interact with peers and other audiences and use a variety of media and formats to communicate information and ideas effectively.
5. Use technology to locate, evaluate, collect and process data information from a variety of sources and report the results. They evaluate and select new information resources and technological innovations based on the appropriateness for specific tasks.
6. Use technology resources for solving problems and making informed decisions. They employ technology in the development of strategies for solving problems in the real world.

 

English Standards

 

Students will:

Mathematics Standards

Instructional programs should enable all students to:

2. Algebra

3. Geometry
1) analyze characteristics and properties of two- and three-dimensional geometric shapes and develop mathematical arguments about geometric relationships;

4) use visualization, spatial reasoning, and geometric modeling to solve problems.

4. Measurement

5. Data Analysis and Probability
1) formulate questions that can be addressed with data and collect, organize, and display relevant data to answer them;
