Music at AST is an important part of school life from elementary through to Grade 12. There is an articulated curriculum that covers both performance and theory aspects of music, with the mandatory Elementary classes focusing on vocal and piano, while Middle and High School elective classes offer a choice of vocal and Hand Bells.

There are two major concerts each year and several lunchtime recitals. Each participating music student is required to perform at the winter and spring concerts, whereas the lunchtime recitals are voluntary, and give an opportunity for all AST students to share their musical talent with their peers. In addition, our students regularly perform outside the school campus for the broader community, and give exchange concerts with other schools in Taichung and Taipei.
